I was really surprised that it took a few revs to get it off the line, and basically a handful to make it fast from the lights. Once it was humming, though, it proved to have a super-fat midrange and respectable top-end.
Steering was about medium, suspension acceptable, and braking surprisingly sharp thanks to the six-piston front stoppers. The latter, combined with its user-friendly ride position, is its real performance advantage. A well-ridden one will spook fancier sporting tackle any day - in the right hands.
The gearbox is particularly sweet, though the engine produces mild high-frequency vibration. Didn't bother me, but it might hassle some folk.
This and a lot of other recent models have me wondering what's going on at Suzi. Someone has been taking user-friendly pills. It's a very easy and enjoyable bike to ride and was one that I was reluctant to let go.
