Even wondered what it would be like to tour the MV Agusta factory and see how exactly the hand-built F3 675 is constructed? The European sports bike company has released a new video (see below) that takes viewers inside its factory located in Varese, Italy, not far from the Swiss border.
When the MV Agusta F3 makes its way half way around the world and launches in Australia - arriving late March 2012 - it will open up the exotic Italian marque to a wider range of buyers due to an affordable price point - $17,990 ride away.
MV Agusta is marketing the new model as a very special, very precise piece of engineering that is more than just a mass-produced motorcycle - hence the access-all-areas video.
Powered by a three-cylinder 675cc water-cooled engine that outputs 126hp (94.2kW) at 14,400rpm and 71Nm of torque at 10,600rpm, the F3 will not only rival the Triumph Daytona 675, but also 600cc sports bikes models from Japan, such as the Suzuki GSX-R600 and Honda CBR600RR.
According to the Italian motorcycle maker, each F3 is constructed from "about 1,200 pieces," and each component is "...checked one by one before, during and after installation to ensure the compliance of the quality, assembly accuracy and function."
The MV Agusta media statement waxes lyrical: "Every great motorcycle is made up of many small acts of magic ... Assembled with passion, skill and innate precision. Thus was born F3, three-cylinder that has changed the concept of supersport."
It would appear that MV Agusta wants to be as transparent as possible with its manufacturing process, perhaps in an attempt to boost the F3's distinctive attributes.
"At the end of the assembly line each of these unique three-cylinder engines are subjected to the tests on the test bench: hot firing cycle, warm-up period and then they are subject to tests of power and torque," continues the media statement.
"Each engine is tested for 30 minutes. And only after the successful completion of this test can the engine be transferred to the vehicle assembly-line where it is mated with the beautiful trellis frame complete with sideplates fabricated from aluminum alloy."
By the time the tightening of all bolts, nuts and screws is performed - complete with detailed data management recording of all parts - the F3 675 is then rolled onto a dynamometer where the throttle is summarily pinned.
Stay tuned for full impressions of the middleweight MV Agusta F3 675 when the local launch takes place in March.
