MotoGP stars Lorenzo, Spies, and Edwards are joined by past heroes Rainey, Lawson and Roberts Sr in this bizarre tale of time travel

As part of the 2011 American MotoGP at Laguna Seca, Yamaha's local branch put together a very entertaining video that highlights the comic talents of both past and present Yammy riders.

The video, which can be seen below, was put together by Yamaha to celebrate its 50th anniversary "with special appreciation to all of our riders and race fans," says the company.

It begins ordinarily enough, with current MotoGP riders such as Jorge Lorenzo, Ben Spies, Colin Edwards and Cal Crutchlow attending a photo shoot with past Yamaha heroes Eddie Lawson, Kenny Roberts Sr. and Wayne Rainey.

After a subtle digs are made between past and present riders in front of the Yamaha YZR-M1 race bike, Fabio of all people rocks up in Colin Edward's Lexus supercar. Edwards says he and Fabio "Roll together 24-7."

And from here on in it just gets even more amusing.

The motorcycle maestros are transported back in time to see what life as a GP rider was like,  "...back to a time when things were much simpler" .

After exiting a psychedelic van, the crew have been transported back to the '70s complete with matching hair and get-ups.

Stay tuned until after the credits too, because there's some nice archival footage of Lawson, Roberts Sr and Rainey doing their thing.
