Hot off the Japanese press, Yamaha has unveiled its new 2011 colour scheme for the YZF-R1 and it looks a lot like the race bike ridden by J. Lorenzo...

Fresh off the factory line in Japan are two new Yamaha models. Well, they're not new per se, but they have new paint schemes.

The 2011 Yamaha YZF-R1 features a new colour scheme to commemorate the 2011 YZR-M1 MotoGP race bike, ridden by Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies. It's a fairly unspectacular colour scheme -- blue, black and white -- but is nothing if not traditional. It goes on sale in Japan on April 15.

The other model to get a new paint scheme for 2011 is the Yamaha XJR1300, which goes on sale in Japan on March 20. It features a new "Black Metallic X" colour with retro side stripes in silver and grey.

Stay tuned for local release dates.
