Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta has announced a new naked bike model, the Brutale R 1090. Power by MV's tried and tested 1078cc inline four-cylinder engine, the Italian streetfighter slots in underneath the tricked-out Brutale 1090 RR model, and is priced at $19,990 ride away in Australia.
MV Agusta Imports says the new naked bike is en route in container ships, and will be on sale in Australia by the end of November, 2011.
The local importer also confirmed the Brutale R 1090 will be offered in three different colour schemes - white, red and black.
Power output for the new Brutale R 1090 is the same as the RR model, 144hp (106kW) at 10,300rpm and 112Nm at 8100rpm, and it has a top speed of 265 km/h. Not bad for an unfaired motorcycle.
But the main change to the more affordable model is the removal of the monoblock brake callipers in lieu of standard Brembos, different aluminium alloy wheels and a few changes to the suspension.
New graphics are also added to the bikes, available in white, red and black, which get splashes of contrasting colours on the tank, front fender and rear section.
You still get quite a bit of kit with the MV Agusta Brutale R 1090, such as 50mm upside-down Marzocchi forks, a Sachs rear shock, Brembo brakes and of course the four-cylinder engine which features radial intake and exhaust valves.
MV Agusta says the engine has been tuned specifically for the new model. "The Electronic Engine Control Unit has been programmed with a mapping that has been developed specifically for this new model, combining an optimal engine control coupled with 8 levels of traction control that can be selected by the rider."
The Italian company says the Brutale R 1090 has "...raw power mated with ergonomics," and a new one-piece seat has been designed for the motorcycle, primarily to improve passenger comfort.
According to MV Agusta, "The Brutale R 1090 is the perfect motorcycle for those who are searching for a motorcycle in its essential form coupled with exceptional performance and unique design."
