Turning back the clock with a classic style -- but plenty of 'new' technology

Honda's retro-styled CB1100F is on the way to Australia, powered by a big air-cooled 1140cc DOHC fuel injected four-banger engine.

As an ode to the much-loved Honda CB750 Four, all-round function, 'easy' performance and heritage styling mark the distinguishing characteristics of the new CB1100F, which produces 87hp (64kW) and has a kerb weight of around 245kg.

Arriving in Australia in late May, price will be $14,990 in a choice of two colours: Candy Glory Red or Pearl Milky White.

Expected to be a low volume model for Honda Australia, the CB1100F's seat height is just 75mm, and the front suspension comprises conventional 41mm forks while the rear is suspended with a pair of preload-adjustable Showa dampers.

There's also an analogue clock with the large digital readout in the middle, and an aircraft-style fuel filler cap.

The local version does not come with ABS as an option.
