The motorcycle at the centrepiece of a triubute to the late Andrew McFarlane has been stolen...

In a brazen move by spineless thieves, the motorcycle of the late motocross champion Andrew McFarlane has been stolen from his brother's shop in Queensland.

Andrew "Sharky" McFarlane was killed in May during a crash at the Broadford motorcycle complex in Victoria, and since then his brother Cameron had created a shrine for his brother at his Capalaba shop, the centerpiece of which was his late brother's 2010 KTM 450SX-F.

Cameron McFarlane has appealed to the thieves to return the bike, which is worth almost $20,000, and was never intended for sale but as a tribute to his brother's achievements.

A police investigation is underway, and Cameron McFarlane told Queensland newspaper The Courier-Mail that the theft has shocked everyone. "It was Andrew's Queensland racing bike... This one was a bike that we wanted to keep and unfortunately that's not to be any more."

"All we want is the bike back. Just bring the bike back and they can have everything else," said Cameron McFarlane.

Andrew McFarlane was a former Australian motocross and supercross champion, and was almost world champion in 2005, when has was runner up in the MX2 Motocross World Championship.
