The latest four-stroke MX weapons from Kawasaki are here, complete with a host of internal and external changes

The annual cycle of new motocross releases has now begun in earnest, with Kawasaki the latest to announce its 2011 model KX250F and KX450F models are now on sale.

The duo will be priced at $11,699 (KX450F) and $10,999 (KX250F) respectively.

We recently touched on the full gamut of changes to the KX250F , which includes fuel injection with a 43mm throttle body, modifications to the gearbox, a lighter chassis, and the piece de résistance: the adoption of a Showa Separate Function Fork.

These new forks are different to conventional motocross fork set-ups, in that they have spring/spring preload adjusters on one leg, and damping on the other.

Kawasaki has developed calibration kit for KX250F. This allows riders (or crew) to connect a computer to the kit, and then upload new fuel injection maps to the bike, giving the bike more flexibility for differing scenarios and tracks.

The KX450F also has a lighter chassis, a new ECU for improved low to mid-range poke, a new FIM-approved muffler to keep the noise down, and revised suspension settings.
