Across several models

The end of the financial year may still be a couple of months away, but already we're seeing companies ramping up marketing efforts to appeal to more buyers.

North American manufacturer Polaris yesterday announced that it was reducing its prices on several models, spanning ATVs and Rangers, and taking it from the top, the 300cc Hawkeye 2x4 ATV – which happens to be Australia's best selling model in the 250-300cc segment – is now priced at $5995 rideaway.

The Hawkeye's 300cc engine is mated to a CVT for ease of use, and the ATV also boasts independent rear suspension, sealed front storage, plus disc brakes front and rear.

And then there are the aggressively designed Outlaw high performance sports ATVs (first image), which have seen prices slashed by up $3000. The Outlaw models are popular with racers and extreme sportspeople, and these ATVs have taken out several racing titles, including the gruelling 2009 Finke Desert Race. These are the current Outlaw prices, but Polaris says stocks are limited:

- 2008 Outlaw 525 IRS $9,995 (save up to $3,000)
- 2009 Outlaw 525 IRS $11,995 (save up to $1,500)
- 2009 Outlaw 525 S $11,995 (save up to $1,000)

Next up is the Ranger 400 which is now priced at $13,995 rideaway, whose big 400cc engine allows users to tow and carry loads and also has seating for two. According to Polaris it's "a screaming bargain..."

Customers looking at the Polaris Sportsman XP (second image) can save $1000 off the sticker price with the current end of financial year sales. The Sportsman XP is widely recognised as one of the best ATVs on the market and can be had in 550 or 850 engine sizes. It features 14-inch wheels, Active Descent Control, power steering on 850 models, and an anti-kickback system.

Lastly, Polaris is also taking a grand off the X2 550, which is now offered at $12,495. "For only a small premium, the X2 550 offers many of the features of Sportsman XP, but with a tip tray that instantly transforms to become a two seater," boasts the Polaris press statement. With a 181kg capacity, the X2 is "the only 4-wheeler that can handle a spray tank above 110 litre capacity".
