To lock horns with BMW GS Adventure

Moto Guzzi Australia has announced the Stelvio 1200 NTX, resurrecting a suffix not used on a Guzzi in over a decade, will sell for $25,990 when it goes on sale in May.

The NTX is more equipped for serious off-road work than the Stelvio 1200 with switchable ABS brakes, aluminium panniers, hand protectors, crash bar and powertrain protectors, a metal bashplate and wide-angle headlamps.

The NTX weights about 10kg more than the Stelvio, and has the same 1151cc air/oil cooled fuel-injected powerplant, delivering 108hp (81kW) and 106Nm.

Meanwhile, Moto Guzzi has dropped the price of the standard Stelvio to $21,990. The corresponding offerings from BMW are $21, 952 (R 1200 GS) and $26,950 (R 1200 GS Adventure) respectively.

BMW is about to launch an updated twin-cam GS range.
