Another day, another batch of new 2010 models… But these ones are different from the usual suspects – they've got four wheels.
Arriving in Australia "shortly" (to quote Suzuki's press release), the 2010 versions of the QuadSport Z90 and QuadSport Z50 junior quads boast a fresh new look thanks to flashy graphics.
There are also 'Special Edition' pink colour options for kids (or adults) who want to stand out from the crowd.
Along with the bold new colour schemes, the QuadSport Z50 and Z90 models are powered by "quiet and smooth" 50 cc and 90cc four-stroke single-cylinder engines respectively. Power from the air-cooled engines is transferred to the rear wheels via automatic transmission (CVT) and the quads have electric starters.
Officially part of Suzuki's fun bike range, the QuadSport tiddlers are equipped with independent suspension all round. The anchors aren't exactly cutting edge – a pair of drum brakes at the front and a solo drum at the rear – but with low weights the quads probably don't need high end floating calipers.
Suzuki says that additions such as a tether-type remote engine stop switch and throttle limiter improve both vehicles' safety, as do full floorboards.
Prices are likely to be similar to last year's models, with the Z50 offered from $2890 and Z90 priced from $3690 (not including government and delivery charges) when the new models launch in Australia shortly.
