Triumph's growth in Australia has placed the British motorcycle brand ahead of its other European competitors.

According to ERG industry data for 2005, Triumph sold 1879 road bikes, compared to 1679 units for the same period last year, an increase of 12 per cent.

This places it ahead of other European brands such as BMW (1502 units), Ducati (847 units) and Aprilia (816 Units).

"With the additions of the Scrambler (pictured), Daytona Triple 675 and the Rocket 3 classic we expect there will be even more backsides on Triumph seats in 2006," said Triumph Australia's Paul Grocutt.
